FAQ's About Commissions & Portraits

Tristan Jones was sculpted from life at the Annapolis Sail Boat Show by Bill Osmundsen.

Jones is well known as a Sailor and Author.

The Portrait is a way of remembering and honoring an individual;- living on it's own, it continues beyond our mortality.
You can pick up an old photograph, of someone I knew years ago and visualize them beyond your memory. But you will also find a profound image in a drawing, painting or sculpture.
Art, is by it’s nature, much more than a duplication of a physical likeness.  In painting an Artist goes beyond a photo and in sculpture beyond casting from life.
The Artist draws from the Subject making the Portrait a truly collaborative effort between subject and Artist; - the human Spirit and involvement is undeniable.
